The beach house!

Jocelyn’s grandparents so graciously let us stay at their beach house in Monterey. It was so wonderful we had only a 5 min walk to the beach and had great ocean views from the windows. The first day we walked down to the beach and walked around on the rocks. Azelynn is a bit timid of loud noises and really would not go near the water because of the waves, but really enjoyed playing on the beach away from the water. The next day we went on 17 mile drive. It is a beautiful drive along the coast to pebble beach and through the Del Monte forest. Wednesday we went to Point Lobos reserve and went on little hike and had lunch with some great views. After lunch we rented a six seater bike and went for a little ride through cannery row and along the coast. Thursday Darren and I went whale watching with his brother and dad. We had a successful trip and got to see two humpback whales. We then spent the rest of the afternoon at Carmel beach where the girls did some shopping and the boys relaxed at the beach. Friday morning we got up early and went to the Monterey Aquarium. It is a pretty amazing aquarium I would like to visit again when we have a lot more time. Overall I think Monterey is a beautiful place and would not mind going back!
